Online Therapy

I provide online sessions via video call using Google Meet. It is important to me that my practice is accessible, and working online allows me to offer therapy to those who aren’t able to travel for sessions for whatever reason. Online therapy can be more convenient to fit in around working from home or other commitments, and there might not be a suitable therapist in your area.

Some considerations
Having therapy sessions online from a room in your home is convenient but it does bring up things you don’t have to think about with in-person therapy. These are a few things you may wish to consider before your first session…

  • Finding the right space - you may have limited options at home, but think about which space feels most comfortable for your therapy sessions.
  • Privacy - do you need to ask people not to be around while you’re having a session?
  • Camera and sound set up - for example, will you feel more comfortable using headphones for privacy/focus?
  • Transition in and out of your session - with in-person sessions this happens on the way to and from the therapy room. Maybe you can create this process by walking round the block or making a cup of tea.
